Stipe Society Events (for Emory community):

Student and Faculty Arts Soiree: December 2, 2005; Schwartz Theater Lab
In efforts to build the community between student and faculty, Stipe Society has hosted the event at least once a year (usually at the end of fall semester). If desired the Student and Faculty Arts Soiree has also been used as a closing event for Arts Week. The Soiree hosts a student and faculty art exhibit accompanied by desserts, an opening address by the President, an address by the keynote speaker (faculty member), and then presentations by student and faculty of their artwork (around 2 or 3). In the past presenters have been Bruce Covey, Woody Hickcox, Brian Green, and Dana Haugaard to name a few. This event is the most formal of the Stipe events and has traditionally been cocktail attire.
