Each school may have only
one entrant in each category.
Each student may compete
in only one category.
The number of entrants is
limited, so students are encouraged to sign up for competition in advance
of the convention. There is a place on the registration form to do this.
Each entry must specify the category and be signed by the faculty delegate.
Faculty delegates must send an e-mail message listing students and their
respective categories to SEJC President Margaret Tate at
margaret.tate@emory.edu to verify entries. E-mails sent by individual
students or other faculty will not be accepted.
Students also may enter the
on-site competitions at the convention - either at the registration
table at the Decatur Holiday Inn until 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, or
at general registration at Emory on Friday, Feb. 17, until 10 a.m. Entries
will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for any spots left
after schools submitted their early entries. Some categories could fill
up prior to the convention by early entry.
Students that submitted entries
early via e-mail must pick up a ticket for their entries at the convention
registration desk no later than 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17. After that
time, if any early entries have not been picked up, they will be considered
vacant and will be offered to any school asking for them on a first-come,
first-served basis.
Every attempt will be
made to communicate changes to on-site rules and categories as they
occur; however, faculty and students are urged to check this Web site
prior to the convention for changes. All rules and categories are subject
to change based on logistics.
