Friday, Feb. 17: Jay Bookman
Jay Bookman is columnist and deputy editorial page editor of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, specializing in foreign relations and environmental and technology-related issues. He has won numerous state and regional journalism awards and has twice been recognized as the nation's outstanding editorial writer. In addition, Bookman's work on environmental issues has been recognized with the Aldo Leopold Award, granted by the Wilderness Society, and the American Conservation Award from the National Wildlife Federation. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with degrees in history and journalism. He has lived in Atlanta since 1990 and previously worked for newspapers in Washington, Nevada and Massachusetts. He is married with two daughters. Bookman's first book, "Caught in the Current," was published by St. Martin's Press in July 2004.
