10/07/2004 EMORY PRE-LAW SOCIETY OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
Hello there Pre-law society
members! Here are the events that are coming
up in October. Please mark your
calendars and keep checking the conference
for more updates.
Thanks!
1. Graduate School and
Professional Careers Day
October 13 from 12:30 to 3 in
Winship Ballroom and Cox Hall Ballroom. The law schools will be in Cox
Hall Ballroom. The schools that will be in attendance are listed at the
career center website at www.career.emory.edu
2. The NACDL (National
Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers)
This national association is
having a series of workshops in Atlanta from October 14-16. Please do
not miss out on this opportunity! Many criminal defense lawyers will
attend these workshops, and fortunately, Emory students are able to go
FREE of cost, when others will be paying a couple of hundred dollars to
attend. It's also a great networking opportunity! Please register at
www.nacdl.org/meetings if you are interested in attending, and check out
the website for more details
3. Northeastern Law School Visit
This law school is located in
Boston, and someone from Admissions will be visiting Emory on October
28th from 2-3 in the DUC. Please stop by and talk to the representative
if you are interested in applying to Northeastern.
4. LSAC Law School Forum
Don't forget the LSAC forum
taking place downtown on October 29 and 30.
You can register for the event
at www.lsac.org and the Pre-Law Society will be arranging carpools so
look out on the conference for that. You must register on the LSAC site
if you want to avoid the lines at the event. There is no fee.
5. No Mock LSAT this month!
There will be no LSAT diagnostic
this month, but we will be having another one on November 6th, so check
the conference and sign up for that when sign ups are posted.
6. Dues!!
$10 for academic year. This
includes a $100 discount to a Kaplan Prep Course and at Princeton Review
:) Also, in order to attend most Pre-Law Society events, you must have
paid your dues. Send a check (to "The Pre-Law Society") in an envelope
to P.O. Box 121738 (no stamp required if on-campus post office).
Thanks everyone!
