WELCOME TO LAMBDA CLASS RUSH!

Rush_lambda

So what exactly is this “rush” you speak of?
Rush is a period during which our sorority actively seeks and welcomes any females interested in joining Delta Phi Lambda to come to our various planned events and activities in order to get to know the sisters better. It is a bi-annual recruitment that is conducted by any sorority and fraternity, but freshmen must wait until the second semester to participate. It is an excellent way for you to find out about us and for us to get to know a little bit about you, plus have tons of fun with the sisters!

What kind of activities can I expect?
Events include parties, dinners, karaoke, potlucks, and much more! The best thing about rush? It costs nothing…nada! All expenses are paid for by the sorority.

Who can come and join you guys?
Delta Phi Lambda welcomes females of all nationalities who share a common goal of promoting Asian awareness through sisterhood.

I’m interested. What are the requirements?
Those seriously interested in admittance to Delta Phi Lambda must attend at least 2/3 of the Recruitment events for consideration into the sorority.

What does it mean if I get a “bid”?
After the recruitment process, "bids" or personal invitations to continue the process of becoming a part of Delta Phi Lambda may be given. We are welcoming you in hopes that you accept the bid, and thus become an official pledge to our sorority.

Why do I keep seeing “Kappa” on all of your rush info?
Every rush season, we seek members for the upcoming Delta Phi Lambda class. The Fall 2008 Recruitment targets the potential Kappa Class, the next letter following the previous and newly installed Iota Class according to the Greek alphabet.

What sets Delta Phi Lambda apart from other sororities?
We are Emory's first and only Asian Interest Sorority. Delta Phi Lambda actively promotes Asian awareness and female empowerment. We work to advance the cause of the Asian community not only on campus but anywhere and everywhere within our reach.

How many sisters are there?
Once a sister, always a sister…so there are 38 of us in the Emory chapter of Delta Phi Lambda. Currently, we have 15 active sisters.

Do I have to make my final-final decision after Rush?
If you receive a bid from us after the recruitment process, you may have the choice to defer for one semester if you are unable to accept right away.

But I have a ton more questions!
Great! Just ask and we will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. Please feel free to contact these sisters:
