What is SAAAC?

The Students in Alliance for Asian-American Concerns (SAAAC) is a student-run organization that aims to promote Asian awareness on campus with the goal of eliminating stereotypes and racism.  Through awareness campaigns, discussion panels, and other social, educational, and informative events, SAAAC provides a forum for Emory students to discuss social, cultural, and political concerns and issues that affect Asian-American youth today.

With Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) students representing 19% of  the undergraduate student body, SAAAC strives to strengthen their voice on campus by providing opportunities for APIA students to further involve themselves in the larger Emory Community.  We also work closely with other student groups to help foster unity among the diverse ethnic groups at Emory.

The SAAAC General Body meets on a regular basis to address the status of Asian-Americans on campus, to discuss pertinent issues, to respond to incidents of intolerance, to plan events, and simply to hang out and have a great time!

The Leadership Committee is a subdivision of SAAAC that focuses on training freshmen students in leadership skills and campus involvement.
