- Friday Prayer
- Jummah prayer is held in Cannon Chapel every Friday during the school year. The khutbah begins at 1:55 P.M., followed by prayer.
- Every other Friday at 3:00P.M., shortly after Jummah, one of our Education Chairs leads a presentation and discussion on an Islamic topic. Topics rangs from women's rights and hadith to leadership and friendship. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Philanthropic & Social
- The Fast-a-Thon has two goals: to raise awareness about an issue that is receiving little media attention and to raise money for that cause. To raise awareness, we ask participants to fast for one day from sunrise to sunset in order to experience the fast during the month of Ramadan and to spread the word about the event. The MSA collects pledges from private donations by students and individual families as well as area businesses that promise to donate at least a dollar for every student or faculty member who agrees to fast during the daylight hours of the day of Fast-a-thon. Participating students and faculty break their fast with a grand, catered dinner accompanied by live music and followed by a lecture delivered by a guest speaker.
- Art Gala
- The MSA Art Gala is an annual art show featuring a variety of aesthetic expressions with Islamic themes from all over the world, including artwork by local artists, faculty, and students.
