Lambda Theta Alpha, Latin Sorority, Inc. is an organization that prides itself in serving the community. At Gamma Nu Chapter, we too strive to serve all of the Atlanta community. Although we do not have a chapter philanthropy, we actively work with many organizations in the area to not only help, but educate the people of Atlanta.

For the past two years we have participated in AIDS Walk – Atlanta, raising over $950 for AIDS Research.

For the second year now we were also part of Project Open Hand: Dining for Life, a city wide event where restaurants donate their proceeds of one evening to helping feed the needy of Atlanta.

Once a month, Gamma Nu Chapter volunteers with the Discovery Program at Whitefoord Elementary School. This is a program that helps disadvantaged children become excited about school and learning on Saturday mornings.

We also raised over $300 for Miracle Marathon, a school wide event that raises money for Children’s Miracle Network and Children’s Heatlhcare of Atlanta.

In Spring 2005 Gamma Nu chapter established their own Girl Scout troop through the program Niņas Exploradoras.

As part of Founder's Week 2005, we hosted an Atlanta Latino Informational Fair at Plaza Fiesta. With over 15 organizations and 500 people in attendance the event was a huge success. These organizations offered free resources for financial assistance, legal aid, and healthcare.  This will become an annual event.

This upcoming year, Gamma Nu Chapter hopes to continue to serve the community through as many means possible. We also plan on establishing F.U.T.U.R.O., our national philanthropy, at a middle school in the Atlanta area.
