About Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is an international not-for-profit organization that seeks to help eradicate poverty worldwide through its goal of creating decent, affordable housing by way of donations and volunteer labor given in the spirit of compassion for the downtrodden of society. Founded by Millard Fuller in 1976, the organization works with universities, foundations, corporations, churches, and countless other groups to fight poverty all over the world. When a family finds itself forced to live in dismal, substandard conditions, Habitat intervenes by securing the necessary land, materials, and labor and extending a proposal that will allow the family to become homeowners within a manageable financial structure.

Habitat Emory exists to execute the broad goals of the organization while providing opportunities for Emory students, faculty, and staff to be a part of the process.
