HEALTH INSURANCE TOWN HALL INFORMATION
As many of you may be aware, changes have been made to the Student Health Insurance Plan for the 2009 – 2010 school year. Recently, Grad Senate and the Graduate Student Council of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences held a health insurance town hall meeting to discuss these issues. If you were unable to attend this town hall and are interesting in catching up on what you missed, you will find the power point presentation attached, and directions below for how to access the podcast. You’ll get the chance to listen to the experts from Emory University Student Health & Counseling Services, including Michael Huey, MD (Executive Director) and Kimberly Taylor (Supervisor of Insurance) as they discuss changes in the Aetna student plan for this school year. Don’t miss their explanations of the new “core network” and core vision plan, as well as explanations of how referrals work and how changes to the policy are made.

EMORY GRAD-UNDERGRAD MENTORING PROGRAM
The Student Government Association has partnered with the Graduate Senate and the Career Center to create a Graduate-Undergraduate Mentoring Program. This is a fantastic experience for you to impart of your wisdom, experience, and know how to an aspiring undergrad. As a graduate mentor, you would be provided with a stipend each semester to take your small group of undergraduates out. We know how busy your schedules can be, but believe that the opportunity to interact with these undergraduates and help them out, as well as attend our catered end-of-the-year banquet with alumni from all walks of life, will be well worth your time. The specifics of the program are still being worked out, but we would like to gauge interest so that we can include the graduate students in determining how we can ensure the program is conducive to graduate student needs. BRIDGING GAPS: SGA FORUM FOR FREE SPEECH
The Emory Student Government Association is hosting “Bridging Gaps” forums every Friday on campus. The purpose for these forums is to create, facilitate, and promote freedom of expression on campus. The forums will also give the opportunity to groups around campus to find a common ground and present an art form, idea, argument, or other form of expression. This Friday’s forum will take place at 11:30am-1:30pm at the Cox Amphitheatre stair steps and will feature a discussion about health care in America between the Emory Young Democrats and the College Republicans.
