Service
The key principle to Alpha Phi Omega is Service. The chapter participates in a variety of service projects throughout Emory’s campus and the Atlanta community. The four major fields include the following: Service to the college, Service to the Fraternity, Service to the community, and Service to the nation as participating citizens. Different projects are available to the whole chapter and are organized by project coordinators (PC). PCs organize and plan service projects in advance and report hours to the service vice president.
Service projects include (but are not limited to):

There is usually at least one project every week throughout the semester, and drivers for the projects receive an extra hour of service. Most brothers and pledges exceed the service hour requirement and the chapter completes hundreds of service hours each semester.
Service Requirements:
- Active Brothers must complete 20 hours of service
- Pledges must complete 12 service hours
- A maximum of 4 outside hours, 4 fellowship hours, and 4 leadership hours can be awarded
- Participation in a Big Three is strongly recommended
Big Three
The "big three" are three large service projects each semester in which brothers are strongly encouraged to attend to allow brothers to come together in service. Established a few semesters ago, the big three remains a vital part of the service program. A "big three" project this semester was AIDS walk, where the chapter raised over $500 dollars. The commitment of the chapter is definitely shown through the big three service projects.
